Welcome to my travelogues

I have tried to force the font to "fixedsys" which is how ascii text looks on a standard video terminal. That is where I typed these stories, and how I transmitted them, first to my wife, and later to my friends. Since this mode of communication is limited to text, I would add ascii art to the headers of many travelogues. This art form only shows correctly with a video font (fixedsys, terminal, video, system, etc) which is a fixed (non-proportional) font to work with the 80 characters/line on a terminal. If your computer doesn't have the font, it will try for a close match. But the ascii art may not appear as intended.

Another caveat are the URLs (Universal Resource Locator) which were accurate when the travelogue was originally typed, but could have moved or expired since then. I tried to update them during the migration to this website (Oct 99) but....
